Mold

Working with mold requires having the right personal protective equipment to protect against the dangerous particles contained in mold. Mold spreads in the air and is dangerous when inhaled. Mold can cause various symptoms, and allergic reactions can develop.

Protection to be used when working with mold:

Respiratory protection: Half mask with A1P3 filter (maximum 3 hours) or turbo respirator with A1P3 filter (maximum 6 hours)

Disposable suit: Type 5/6. The suit must be tight-fitting at the ankles, neck, and wrists

Gloves: Tight-fitting assembly gloves

Footwear: Tight-fitting footwear such as rubber boots

Glasses: Safety glasses or goggles

Warning sign: ‘Harmful and irritating substances’

Note: Respiratory protection such as disposable masks and half masks can be used for a maximum of 3 hours. If the work exceeds 3 hours per day, turbo respiratory protection must be used, but for a maximum of 6 hours. People with a full beard should always use powered air-purifying respirators or turbo masks, as the beard prevents the filter mask from sealing properly.
