otto schachner nordic is a member of Sedex - which is an association of importers that focus on conducting business in an environmentally conscious and socially responsible manner, with sustainability in mind. Environment
At otto schachner nordic, we collect used batteries and deliver them to the municipality according to regulations. For our products that include batteries in the packaging, instructions for proper environmental treatment and disposal are provided.
As a company – as well as individual employees – we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and surroundings, and therefore we are very attentive to handling harmful substances according to regulations. We store and document (safety data sheets) chemicals and substances necessary for the daily operation of workshops and general maintenance, in accordance with the regulations of the Danish Working Environment Authority.
Reach
REACH legislation covers articles and substances imported into the EU.
otto schachner nordic, as an importer of articles, must ensure that our products (articles) comply with REACH legislation, and thus monitor the use of substances listed on the Candidate List.
The Candidate List is an overview of particularly hazardous chemicals SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern), which are not desired to be imported into the EU. The list is regularly revised, and new substances are added continuously.
In accordance with European legislation, we contact partners from high-risk countries and ensure that none of these particularly hazardous substances are used in products supplied to us.
This way, our customers can feel safe using our products.
EU Packaging Directive
Our products are packed in reusable materials, and we are conscious of recycling our own packaging waste. We expect our suppliers to deliver ordered products in reusable cardboard cartons, and we collect cartons, plastics, and other packaging for recycling according to the applicable rules. We aim to reuse all packaging to reduce materials, environmentally harmful substances, and heavy metals.
