Accidents cannot always be avoided, but injuries can be limited through quick, correct, and effective first aid. Therefore, it is important to be well-prepared and have the necessary first aid ready when an accident occurs.

There is a difference in what equipment is needed in each company, and how it should be accessible. You should consider whether everything should be gathered in one place, or if a smaller first aid kit should be placed in company vehicles or at individual workstations. Easy accessibility is crucial.

You only have 2 eyes - take care of them

Vision is one of the most important senses. So take care of your eyes. No matter how careful you are, no one can guard against accidents – but everyone can ensure they are prepared. When an accident happens, a few seconds can be the difference between whether vision is damaged or not. Therefore, quick access to eye wash bottles is important.

In case of mechanical injuries from, for example, metal and wood splinters, dust, and other dirt, immediately rinse with a sterile sodium chloride solution (0.9%).

For injuries with chemicals, it is recommended to rinse with a pH-neutral solution that quickly restores the eye's natural pH balance.

Remember to check the expiration date on your eye wash bottles.

If an accident has occurred, there are three factors to optimize

The eye wash solution must be easily accessible
The eye wash solution must be quick to operate
The eye rinse product must be effective without causing further damage

IMPORTANT! The eye wash liquid must always hit the eye in a gentle, even stream. Press lightly on the bottle without squeezing it.
